"Last Supper" Seder Meal & Procession of the Palms

it's coming.......it's coming.......Easter is coming!

In Children's Church, we've been discussing what the real reason we celebrate Easter is.  You know, the reason BESIDES the Easter Bunny coming and hiding eggs and leaving treats and toys in a basket for us. ;)

Mrs. Jessica & I (Mrs. Anna) decided that we wanted to have a "Last Supper" Seder Meal so that the kiddos could see/taste/discuss what Jesus & the Disciples may have had to eat at the Last Supper Jesus had with his disciples.  We will be having our "Last Supper" Seder Meal tasting during Sunday School on Sunday, April 17th (8:45am).  The adults of the church and parents of the children are invited to come join us.  Hope to see you there!

Sunday, April 17th is Palm Sunday.  As is the tradition of First United Methodist Church of Sweeny, the children will lead the procession of palms into the sanctuary.  We will be gathering all of the children who want to participate in the nursery until it's time to enter the Church.  If your child is nursery age, please let us know if they will be coming back to the nursery or if you want them to remain in the Sanctuary with you.  Parents(and EVERYONE else in the Sanctuary) are welcome to participate in the procession of palms.
After the children make the loop and place their palms in front of the alter, they will disburse back to your seats.

Jesus Embraces Children anytime anywhere

When Jesus Christ walked among us he sent a message to his disciples and to the world in the Gospels of Matthew 19:13-15; Mark 10:13-16; and Luke 18:15-17 "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." And Jesus took the children in His arms, put his hands on them and blessed them. (NIV) From Jesus' lips to your ears. Each one of us is called to love His children, to educate them, to set examples as to how we should live. We hear His call and we answer, "Yes, Lord! Yes, Lord! Yes, Lord!"
